Day 14 | Dunedin

A free day can be enjoyed with some fantastic places to visit like New Zealand's most photographed building the Dunedin Railway Station and Dunedin's city centre, The Octagon. Experience Otago's history at the Settlers Museum and admire sporting heroes at the NZ Sports Hall of Fame, or take a tour of the Speight's Brewery.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION:

Behind the amazing architecture, carefully carved ceilings, spectacular tower views and internationally significant gardens of Larnarch Castle lurks a scandalous and tragic past. Appreciate the breathtaking beauty of New Zealand's only castle and learn the fascinating stories of those who lived within its walls. The Lanarch Castle excursion takes place from 8.00am until 11.30am at a cost of $55.00pp.

Step back in time with a visit to Olveston House. The Jacobean style, grace and grandeur of Olveston House offers a glimpse of life as it was for the privileged Theomin family in the early 1900s. All 35 rooms have a story to tell with irreplaceable artifacts, magnificent paintings and priceless treasures. The Olveston House excursion is from 12.00pm until 1.00pm

All aboard for a spectacular rail adventure through the rugged Taieri Gorge. Soak up the stunning scenery as you cross wrought iron viaducts and travel through tunnels carefully carved by hand over 100 years ago. Complete with informative commentary and photographic stops this historic trip is an absolute must. The Taieri Gorge Train excursion is from 2.30pm until 6.30pm
