Day 8 | Queenstown - Te Anau

The Remarkables mountain range lives up to its name and is a popular destination for skiers, snowboarders and families. Admire these majestic mountains as we wave goodbye to Queenstown. Our next stop, Kingston, was once a major transit link for the region's goldfields, but is now better known for its restored vintage steam train 'The Kingston Flyer' and the TSS Earnslaw steamship jetty.

Journey into Southland, through the townships of Fairlight and Garston. Te Anau is know as 'the walking capital of the world'. It is also today's lunch stop. View the 'loveliest' lake, Lake Manapouri and Lake Te Anau, the second largest lake in New Zealand. Retire for the evening in Te Anau - the gateway to Fiordland.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION:

Cruise across the serene waters of Lake Te Anau to experience a mystical underground world of rushing water and glowing walls. View informative displays at Cavern House before embarking on a glittering boat journey through caves carved and sculpted by the sheer force of water.
